ABOUT OUR JOURNAL

Aims

 The International Medical Education is an international (IME), peer-reviewed, open access journal (free for readers), which publishes original theoretical and empirical work in the interdisciplinary area of all aspects of international medical education. IME seeks to be the pre-eminent international journal in the field of international medical education, and publishes material of the highest quality.

IME publishes Original Research Articles, Reviews, Case Reports, Research Notes and Short Communications. We encourage researchers to publish their experimental results in as much detail as possible. The experimental papers, full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. Additionally, electronic files or software regarding the full details of the calculations, experimental procedure, etc., can be deposited along with the publication as “Supplementary Material”.

Readership

The journal is the international scientific journal for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education. As such, all issues of current interest, including internationalization of medical education, which is the process of purposefully integrating international, intercultural, or global dimensions into medical education in order to enhance its quality and prepare graduates for professional practice in a globalized world. The readership consists primarily of teachers of medicine, medical educators, administrators of faculties or medicine workers and researchers involved in the development of internationalization of medical education as a whole.

The journal covers a broad range of fields including medical, nursing, allied health care, professional education and focuses on undergraduate education, postgraduate training, and continuing medical education. Research fields of interest include but are not limited to:

medical education, accreditation, continuing education, curricula, education, medical schools, postgraduate education, teaching, learning, curriculum, primary care, faculty, research, policy, simulation, OSCEs, interview, supervision, clinical, interdisciplinary, teamwork, feedback, internationalization, PBL.
